Assisting Clients with Accessing Child Tax Credit and Stimulus Payments

Description
This is a self-paced course, which means it does not follow a set schedule. Course materials are entirely accessible as soon as the course begins, and there are no start or due dates.

Please note that all materials in this course were created by the White House, HUD, and Code for America. We have compiled them in one course for easy access.

Description: The recently expanded Child Tax Credit provides additional financial relief to families across the country. Many are receiving these advance payments automatically. But for those who have not filed taxes in 2019 or 2020, action is required. This self-paced course contains materials to familiarize you with basic information about the Child Tax Credit including eligibility and steps required to begin receiving payments. The GetCTC Navigator Training in this course provides instructions on using Code for America's GetCTC non-filer tool to assist clients with claiming their payments. This non-filer tool can also be used to claim missing stimulus payments. Families only have until November 15th, 2021 to use the Non-Filer tool.

Recommended Audience: Any service provider working with individuals who may be eligible for the Child Tax Credit or may not have received a stimulus check
