Registration URL https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/3755655049240605453 Trainer: Gianna Baker, Co-Executive Director, Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance Training Objectives: The training will cover the following topics during my presentation on the Just Housing Amendment: • Background on why we advocated for the law and its impact on Cook County • Overview of the provisions in the amendment • Best practices for housing providers and case managers Bio: Gianna Baker is the Co-Executive Director of the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance where she co-leads the organization's membership programming, policy and advocacy initiatives and training and technical assistance. She co-leads the Just Housing Initiative, the coalition that successfully advocated for the Cook County Just Housing Amendment. Gianna has 14 years of experience in community development, community organizing, and policy advocacy. Previously, she worked at Housing Action Illinois. In 2012, she worked as an adjunct professor at Loyola University of Chicago's Institue for Pastoral Studies, where she taught a course on the principles of community organizing. Gianna currently serves on the governor-appointed board of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Illinois, which supports the community integration of people with disabilities. Gianna earned her M.A. in Community Development from North Park University and her B.A. from Howard University. Fee: The training is free of cost. CEUs are not available for this course.
