Disability Rights in CoC Permanent Housing Programs-10.05.23

Description
This is a recording of a training that took place on October 5th, 2023.

Description:Many participants enrolled in CoC housing programs have one or more disabilities. For certain programs, having a disability is a prerequisite for program enrollment. Program staff must understand how to uphold the rights of participants with disabilities while offering supportive services.

This training provides an overview of:
• The federal fair housing rights of participants with physical or mental disabilities
• The expectation of programs to provide appropriate accommodations for participants with disabilities
• The practical considerations involved in supporting participants with disabilities who choose to live independently

Recommended AudienceThis training is relevant for all case managers and direct services staff working in any permanent housing programs. PSH staff, in particular, are strongly encouraged to attend.
